About Rony

My peers and colleagues often describe me as a newshound.

A passion for public service and storytelling has shaped my career, blending journalism, crisis communications, and municipal operations.

From reporting on some of the most pivotal moments in recent history to leading public affairs and digital transformation efforts in local government, my work has always centered on delivering information that informs, engages, and empowers.

I began my career in news and media production, covering major national and local stories, including the Duke University Lacrosse scandal, the Haiti earthquake, the Boston Marathon bombings, the arraignment of James "Whitey" Bulger, and the Lewiston mass shooting.

My work has been featured across various platforms:  WSMN, WSNH, WNCU, American Urban Radio Network, The Milford Cabinet, ESPN Regional Television, Duke University, The New York Times SJI, WHDH-TV, ABC News, Town of Tyngsborough, CBS News, CBS Boston, WBZ NewsRadio/iHeartMedia, WBUR-FM, NewsNation, The Boston Globe TVOne, PBS Need To Know, and New Hampshire & 603 Diversity Magazine.

Whether reporting from the field or working behind the scenes, I built a reputation as a "newshound"—able to navigate high-pressure situations, deliver real-time information, and manage crisis communications with precision.

Today, I apply those same skills in municipal operations and public administration. As the Media Program Director for Tyngsborough Media, I oversee the town’s Public Affairs Division and public access channel, managing more than 800 hours of municipal board meeting coverage annually and maintaining a 30-year video archive. My role extends beyond media production—I lead initiatives that modernize government transparency, crisis response, and civic engagement, including:

  • Launching a mobile app to enhance public access to municipal resources.
  • Modernizing the town’s website for ADA compliance and improved user experience.
  • Implementing IP technology to expand meeting coverage and remote access.
  • Developing the Tyngsborough Civic Leadership Academy, a program designed to educate residents on local government and encourage civic participation.

My expertise in crisis communications and digital strategy has been instrumental in municipal emergency response efforts, including public messaging during the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating rapid communication strategies, and ensuring public meetings remained accessible during critical events.

Beyond my role in Tyngsborough, I am a mayoral appointee to the Nashua, NH Cable and Television Advisory Board (CTAB), advocating for public access television funding, broadband expansion, and the integration of emerging media technologies in government communications.

As a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), I continue to push for diverse representation in media and public affairs.

I am a graduate of the Massachusetts Municipal Association-Suffolk University Certificate in Local Government Leadership and Management program, a graduate-level academic program providing a strong foundation in public administration and municipal operations. This has further strengthened my ability to navigate governance structures, manage municipal resources efficiently, and drive initiatives that enhance public service.

A lifelong learner and aviation enthusiast, I am a student pilot and an active member of the New Hampshire Pilots Association, Aero Club of New England, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

I am a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in Durham, NC.

My work continues to bridge the worlds of media, government, and technology, ensuring that information remains accessible, transparent, and impactful.
